Sayonara Japan

Up early and packed so we could catch our 7 AM train to Tokyo and transfer to the Narita Express.  The airport was unusually empty but it was Sunday morning.  Breakfast was a couple of rolls from one of the few shops open at 6:30 and coffee from the cart on the train.  Weather overcast with the occasional drizzle so there is no chance that Kathy will get to see Mount Fuji as the train goes past Shizuoka.  The overcast extended up to 15,000 feet so we were not able to see Mount Fuji from the plane.  The rest are parts of a rather dull traveling day: a quick checkin at the airport, returned our rented phone, mailed off the Japan Rail passes to Annie so she could use them before they expire, a short flight to Korea, long immigration lines and finally a shuttle to the hotel.  We have to overnight in Incheon (Seoul) Korea before catching a plane to Taipei.  I had promised Kathy that she could have a real hamburger for dinner and the Hyatt delivered.
Kathy got several photos from the train and in the airport lounge.  The one of the Manek Ineko cat waving seems to best symbolize the day.  In Japan he is used to welcome guests to your home but he looks good waving goodbye.  So did the airplane loaders who bowed and waved goodbye to us as the plane moved out to the runway.
