Having done our two days of obligatory wine tasting, we needed to use the morning to regroup (do laundry and pack) before our flight to Sydney. When we went outside we found that it was drizzling and that virtually everything in Adelaide was closed for Good Friday. Imagine the impact that had on the Shoppus Maximus! We drove around Adelaide photographing some of the unusual features here to show you some differences about life in Australia, stopped at Hungry Jacks and then headed to the airport. Much to Kathy’s relief, the airport shops were open. It did not take her too long to acquire a pair of short UGHs to replace her wet sneakers. Adelaide has a beautiful new airport with a great view of the downtown. When we got to our hotel in Sydney, a box with two bottles of wine was waiting for us. Jerry had bought the wine when we were in Hunter Valley and thought his new distributor could ship it home for him. Wrong! FedEx rejected it, the hotel restaurant would not let us drink it with dinner (wrong license) so Jerry is condemned to carrying them around the world with us.
