Friday was a rainy gray day. We drove up to Christchurch not expecting to find much along the way. A picture of a church or two, then what looked like a smokey truck ahead of us on the road was a 100 year old steam tractor chugging up the highway. I have only seen these things as static relics in the Alameda County Fair. Here they were live and running (10-12 MPH) up the highway. We got several good photos of them when they stopped for water. After checking into our hotel, we went to downtown Christchurch to Cathedral Square for dinner.
